Parable: Ten Virgins

The basic message in this parable is quite clear. At the end Jesus said "Keep watch".

The problem is in understanding the details. What, for example, does the oil represent? That seems central to the meaning of the parable but it is unclear. There is much speculation. Watch for dubious connections being made. What did Jesus intend? Be discerning.
